Oort Cloud

The Oort Cloud is outside the solar system. The Oort Cloud is the leftover material of the forming of the solar system and is like a shell of the solar system. It is made of ice and rock.

Facts of the Oort Clound

The Oort Cloud is located 2,000 and 5,000 AU (astronomical units) from the Sun. It has a radius of 5,000 and 100,000 astronomical units. It doesn't say exactly but it says it is the coldest place in the solar system so far. It is coated with tholin or hydrocarbons formed from solar irradiation of simpler compounds.

Sedna the Dwarf Planet

There are many dwarf planets in the Oort cloud. There is a dwarf planet called Sedna. It is coated with tholin or hydrocarbons formed from solar irradiation of simpler compounds

Sedna facts

It takes about 11,400 years to make a full orbit around the sun. Sendna orbits about 20 days for a full day. It may have a moon but scientists have not seen it in the picture.

Sedna traits

Scientists think Sendna has a magnetic field of 21.1 1800 km in diameter is its mass and density is unknown. November 14, 2003 by Michael E. Brown (Caltech), Chad Trujillo (Gemini Observatory), and David Rabinowitz (Yale).

More facts

It will take about 300 years to get there with a prob. Sedna has a red color like Mars and has a dark spot on it. The Sedna is named after Inuit goddess. The Oort cloud was named after Dutch astronomer Jan Oort. Sedna used to be called 2003 VB12. Sedna is suffering from Radioactive Decay.
